Skillet unstuffed cabbage
One of my all time favorite dinner recipes is Stuffed Cabbage. On a fall Sunday afternoon, served with mashed potatoes… Perfection!
However, life doesn’t always afford us the time to prepare and slow roast stuffed cabbages. Life is busy. Sometimes it can get outright hectic. But that doesn’t mean we have to settle for another drive-through meal or a bowl of cereal, does it? Now, don’t get me wrong, both of these are great on occasion. It’s just sometimes we crave something a bit more savory.

This Skillet Unstuffed Cabbage Roll recipe is perfect for those random Tuesday nights when we don’t have a ton of time, but want something delicious. It is easy to make, only requires one skillet, and can be ready to eat in as little as 30 minutes! Oh, and did I mention it is kind of good for you, too!
It has plenty of protein and healthy veggies. It is also easily adapted for personal preferences: you can use your preferred ground protein – beef, pork, chicken, or turkey. I personally like beef, but any of these would be delicious.
I use regular diced tomatoes when I prepare this (for family members sensitive to spicy foods); however, you can easily spice it up to suit your tastes by swapping out the canned diced tomatoes with a hotter variation – like fire roasted or even your preferred level of Rotel diced tomatoes.
The mix of lean protein and hearty vegetables make this recipe low-carb and Keto friendly! This makes it an Easy, Delicious, and Healthy meal!! .

Ingredients You’ll Need:
2 lb Ground Beef (or pork, chicken, turkey..)
6 TBSP Oil
1 tsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Dried Oregano
Salt & Pepper (to suit your tastes)
2 Heads of Green Cabbage
1 Bell Pepper (your favorite color)
1 (chopped) Sweet Onion
6 Cups of Shredded Colby Jack Cheese (or Cheddar)
Preparation Instructions:
Step 1: Begin by heating Oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Saute Beef, Onion, and Bell Pepper until beef is browned and the Onions are translucent.
Step 2: Add in Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Paprika, Dried Oregano, and Salt & Pepper, stirring until combined.
Step 3: Stir in Diced Tomatoes and Cabbage. Cover Skillet and let it cook for about 20 minutes. Stir as needed until Cabbage is tender.
Step 4: Stir in Shredded Cheese and Cover until melted.
Lastly: Serve & Enjoy!

Ingredients
- 2 lbs Ground Beef or Protein of choice
- 6 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- salt/pepper to taste
- 2 heads of green cabbage
- 1 bell pepper your favorite color
- 1 sweet onion chopped
- 28 oz can of diced tomatoes your preference
- 6 cups Colby jack cheese shredded
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté Oil, Beef, Onion, and Bell Pepper until beef is browned and onions are translucent.
- Add in Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Paprika, Dried Oregano, and Salt & Pepper.
- Stir in Diced Tomatoes and Cabbage. Cover skillet and cook for 20 minutes. Stir as needed until cabbage is tender.
- Stir in Shredded Cheese and cover until melted.
- Serve and Enjoy!
